Deputy Plant Manager - Food Production (ST)
Bachelor’s degree in food science, engineering, business administration or a related field.
At least 5 years practical experience in a managerial role within the food manufacturing industry.
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and the use of performance indicators related to food production.
Practical experience in food manufacturing or a related field
Ability to quickly grasp the nature of the role
Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office
Assists the Plant Manager, supervises day-to-day operations and ensures that the plant’s objectives are achieved efficiently and safely.
Involves managing staff, optimizing processes and maintaining quality standards, with the aim of improving productivity and performance within the plant.
Analyse factual data and/or reasonable assumptions, taking into account resources, constraints and organizational values, to formulate and commit to strategic directions set by senior management for achieving long-term goals and objectives
Break down factory strategies and business initiatives into key tasks, clarify areas of responsibility by aligning communication, people, culture, processes, resources and systems, and ensure effective implementation and the achievement of intended results
Understand and utilize economic, financial and industry data to accurately diagnose production strengths and weaknesses, identify key challenges, and formulate strategies and plans
Meet internal and external customer satisfaction requirements and achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by management.
Direct and coordinate the plant’s overall activities by utilizing resources effectively to maximize output at minimum cost, whilst remaining within defined quality levels and forecast requirements.
Manage and control budgets, plans and program, and make optimal use of available equipment, resources and labour to achieve production targets.
Continuously improve methods, efficiency and resource utilization, whilst critically reviewing and monitoring the plant’s performance
Other duties and tasks deemed appropriate by senior management in relation to the achievement of departmental/plant KPIs.
Clearly articulate a vision of the future and passionately promote the plant and its strategy by helping others understand and visualize how circumstances will change once that vision is realized.
Foster a sense of ownership regarding issues affecting the entire organization through appropriate delegation of authority and encourage individuals to take on challenges that push beyond their current capabilities.- Annual Leave
