Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field
- 5–8 years of experience in merchandising within a retail fashion & accessories environment
- Strong experience in planogram development, space planning, and store layout
- Solid understanding of FMCG products and retail operations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and space productivity metrics
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Hands-on approach with willingness to travel frequently between stores
The Merchandising Manager / Assistant Manager at PANDA EYES is responsible for driving overall merchandising strategy, product assortment, and in-store execution across all outlets. This role ensures products are presented effectively to maximize sales, enhance customer experience, and maintain strong brand consistency.
You will play a key role in supporting new store openings, store refresh initiatives, and expansion plans, while collaborating closely with the buying, operations, and marketing teams to deliver strong commercial results.
Key Responsibilities- Merchandising Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies to drive sales, margins, and product visibility.
- Oversee product assortment, category layout, and space planning across all PANDA Eyes outlets
- Ensure consistency in visual merchandising standards, planograms, and display guidelines
- Monitor in-store execution and ensure compliance with merchandising standards
- Product Assortment & Space Planning
- Collaborate with the buying team to optimize product mix based on sales performance and customer demand.
- Develop and maintain planograms for various store formats and categories
- Allocate shelf space effectively to maximize productivity and sales per square foot
- Review slow-moving items and recommend actions such as promotions or delistings.
- Store Operations & Execution
- Conduct regular store visits to ensure merchandising standards are properly executed
- Identify execution gaps and work with operations teams to resolve issues promptly
- Ensure accurate product placement, pricing, and high-quality displays
- Support stores during promotions, campaigns, and seasonal transitions.
- New Store Openings & Expansion
- Lead merchandising setup for new store openings.
- Coordinate with operations and buying teams to ensure store readiness prior to launch
- Provide on-site support during store openings to ensure smooth execution
- Market & Competitor Analysis
- Conduct competitor benchmarking on pricing, promotions, and display strategies
- Analyze customer shopping behavior and retail trends
- Recommend improvements to enhance customer experience and drive sales performance
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the buying team on product launches and assortment planning
- Partner with the marketing team on promotional displays and campaigns
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure stock availability and effective execution.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the PANDA Eyes merchandising team, including executives and store merchandisers
- Set KPIs and monitor team performance
- Drive continuous improvement in merchandising processes and standards.
