Senior Finance Executive

The Senior Finance Executive will play a strategic and hands-on role in managing the financial health of a growing entertainment business. This position requires someone who understands the dynamic nature of the entertainment sector, is comfortable managing multiple revenue channels (e.g., ticket sales, merchandise, F&B, events), and can contribute to financial planning and decision-making with accuracy and insight.
A. Financial Operations- Supervise daily financial transactions including revenue from ticketing systems, online bookings, merchandise sales, food & beverage, and group bookings.
- Monitor and reconcile cash, credit card, e-wallet and QR code payment collections across outlets.
- Coordinate with outlet supervisors and front-of-house teams to ensure proper cash handling, daily sales reports, and deposit reconciliation.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and petty cash.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly management accounts including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Provide detailed sales performance and profitability reports by product line, attraction, or event.
- Highlight revenue trends, cost variances, and recommendations for improvement to leadership.
- Assist in annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and business planning processes.
- Assist in perform break-even analyses and ROI evaluations for new attractions, collaborations, seasonal campaigns, or ticket promotions.
- Assist in anticipate high/low seasons and adjust cost estimates for staffing, utilities, and production accordingly.
- Ensure all financial records comply with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit SST filings, tax returns, and government-mandated reports.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and statutory bodies as needed.
- Implement and monitor internal control procedures for financial accuracy and fraud prevention.
- Manage accounting software and ensure integration with POS systems and ticketing platforms (e.g., Ticket2U, Klook, Eventbrite).
- Maintain up-to-date SOPs for finance-related processes across departments.
- Lead initiatives to automate manual processes and improve workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with department heads (Operations, Marketing, HR, Events) to support departmental budgeting, resource planning, and performance reviews.
- Participate in pricing strategy discussions and cost control initiatives.
- Support tender documents, grant applications, or investor pitch decks with accurate financial data when required.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- 3–6 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the entertainment, tourism, retail, or hospitality sectors.
- Familiarity with multi-outlet operations and managing revenue from both physical and online sources.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, SST, and Companies Act.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SQL Accounting) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, dashboards, formulas).
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate financial matters with non-finance colleagues.
- Able to work effectively under pressure and available to be contacted during off-days or holidays when necessary.
- High integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
