What you'll do:
- Prepare detailed project-based cost tracking reports that provide clear insights into revenue streams, expenditure patterns, and profit margins across multiple ongoing initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements required for IPO processes, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards and audit requirements.
- Support monthly closing activities by reconciling accounts, verifying transactions, and preparing comprehensive financial summaries for management review.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits by compiling necessary schedules, responding to queries, and ensuring timely completion of audit tasks.
- Manage vendor invoicing processes by reviewing payment vouchers, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring prompt settlement of outstanding balances.
- Generate show-level profit and loss reports that enable project managers to monitor financial performance against budgets and make informed decisions.
- Liaise regularly with project managers to discuss budgeting needs, spending approvals, and cost control measures that align with organisational objectives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team by identifying process enhancements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Utilise advanced Excel skills along with Xero or SQL accounting software to streamline data analysis and reporting functions.
- Maintain strict adherence to deadlines while upholding high standards of accuracy in all financial documentation.
What you bring:
- Hold a degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognised institution, demonstrating a solid academic foundation relevant to the role.
- Possess partial completion of ACCA or MICPA qualifications which would be considered advantageous when handling complex reporting requirements.
- Bring between three to six years of hands-on experience in cost accounting roles—ideally within event or project-based environments where adaptability is key.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis as well as familiarity with Xero or SQL accounting software for efficient workflow management.
- Exhibit diligence in meeting deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy throughout all aspects of financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Show awareness of audit procedures through previous involvement in audit preparation or direct liaison with external auditors.
- Display strong interpersonal skills that foster effective collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders involved in budgeting or approval processes.
- Have a keen eye for detail when managing vendor invoices, payment vouchers, and related documentation critical to smooth operations.
- Embody traits such as being number-savvy, punctual with deliverables, attentive to compliance requirements, and committed to continuous learning within the finance discipline.
