Role

This role offers the opportunity to shape the financial foundation of a high-growth eCommerce portfolio in one of the world's most dynamic regions.

Reporting to: General Manager

Location: Selangor, Malaysia (Office: Bandar Sunway)

Key responsibilities

• Financial Strategy & Planning: Lead regional financial strategy, annual budgeting, and long-term forecasting to support business growth and expansion initiatives
• Business Partnership: Serve as key finance business partner to regional leadership, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making
• Team Leadership: Build, develop, and manage a high-performing regional finance team fostering professional growth and best practices
• Performance Management: Establish and monitor key financial metrics, providing regular reporting and analysis to executive leadership
• M&A Support: Provide financial due diligence and integration support for potential acquisitions and new market entries

• Multi-Country Compliance: Ensure adherence to local accounting standards, tax regulations, and regulatory requirements across all SEA markets (Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, and Hong Kong)
• Financial Reporting: Oversee preparation and review of consolidated financial statements, management reports, and statutory filings (monthly, quarterly and annual closing)
• Process Optimization: Implement and maintain robust financial controls, reporting processes, and system improvements across the region
• Cash Management: Direct regional cash flow planning, working capital optimization, and banking relationships
• Audit & Risk Management: Coordinate with external auditors, manage compliance audits, and maintain comprehensive risk management frameworks
• Others: Manage payroll, and administration duties (incl. working with CoSec)

Key Qualifications

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA added advantage
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) required

Experience:

• Minimum 7-8 years progressive finance experience with at least 2-4 years in senior leadership roles
• Proven experience managing multi-country operations in Southeast Asia
• Strong background in eCommerce, digital businesses, or fast-growth consumer brands is an advantage
• Experience with consolidations, multi-currency operations, and cross-border transactions

Technical Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting
• Experience in Xero is preferred
• Strong command of Excel, Google Workspace, and business intelligence tools
• Knowledge of SEA accounting standards and tax regulations
• Leadership Competencies:
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead diverse teams
• Strong change management and process improvement capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
