Ocean Procurement Assistant Manager

Experience: Approximately 5 years of related experience in ocean freight procurement or a similar role.

• Pace & Smartness: Must be a fast-paced and smart individual with quick responsiveness.
• Mandarin Language: Fluent in Mandarin (to liaise with officers from China - not to be advertised).
• Transportation: Must possess own transportation due to the location.
• Availability: Able to start as soon as possible.
• Carrier Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with ocean carriers on an operational level.
• Sea Logistics Procurement: Support sea logistics procurement and carrier relation management activities.
• Pricing & RFQ: Execute pricing strategies by liaising on pricing and preparing RFQs.
• Stakeholder Management: Work closely with sales, agents, and the commercial department on sourcing strategies to ensure effective product delivery.
• Rate Management: Provide timely responses to rate requests and find mutually beneficial solutions for profit maximization.
• Pricing Implementation: Set selling prices within given bandwidths according to local conditions and pricing policy.
• Shipment Direction: Direct the organization to book shipments based on carrier agreements or the most cost-effective options.
• Freight Rate Transparency: Ensure full transparency on current freight rate levels with Customer Service and Sales teams.
• Account Support: Support and exchange information to gain, retain, or further develop existing accounts.
• Non-Standard Requests: Assist business owners with non-standard RFQ related requests.
• Continuous Improvement: Seek out customer feedback to drive improvements in processes.
• Data Management: Ensure databases are up-to-date with the most relevant pricing information.
• Performance & Development: Be responsible for departmental performance and staff development.
• Ad-hoc Duties: Carry out any other duties as instructed by superiors or management.
