We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing management reports, budgeting, forecasting, project costing analysis, and supporting strategic financial planning activities.This role is critical in delivering actionable financial insights to help drive decision-making in a dynamic and project-centric EPCC environment.
Key Responsibilities
Management Reporting- Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Present financial performance insights to senior management for decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of board papers and investor presentations, where necessary.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts across departments and projects.
- Collaborate with project teams and department heads to gather accurate financial data.
- Track actual performance against budget and highlight key variances.
- Monitor project budgets, costs incurred, and profit margins.
- Analyze project profitability and provide timely financial insights on cost trends, overrun risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Liaise with project managers and procurement teams on cost control and contract performance.
- Support strategic financial planning, scenario analysis, and business modelling.
- Provide analytical support for pricing strategies, tender evaluations, and investment proposals.
- Ensure all reports comply with MFRS and Bursa Malaysia reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary schedules and justifications.
- Assist in maintaining financial controls, processes, and documentation for compliance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in management accounting, preferably in an EPCC, construction, or project-based company.
- Strong understanding of project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Good knowledge of MFRS and Malaysian regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Exposure to complex, large-scale projects across Malaysia and the region.
