Financial accountant (public listed)

This role is vital in upholding the integrity of financial data in a fast-paced and project-driven EPCC environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and Bursa Malaysia requirements.
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure timely closing of financial periods.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure supporting documentation is properly maintained.

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including tax, SST, and Bursa reporting.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls in line with company policy and governance frameworks.

• Monitor project financials including cost recognition, revenue recognition, and margin analysis.
• Work closely with project teams to track project budgets, billing schedules, and WIP.
• Prepare and analyze project-level P&L reports for management review.

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Perform variance analysis and explain key fluctuations against budget.

• Support tax compliance processes including preparation of tax schedules and liaising with tax agents.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial information to Bursa Malaysia, LHDN, and other regulators.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a public listed or EPCC / construction company.
• Strong knowledge of MFRS, Companies Act, and relevant statutory requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Proficient in Mandarin is preferable

• Exposure to EPCC or project-based accounting is highly desirable.
