What you'll do:
As an Equity Derivatives Sales Specialist based in Kuala Lumpur, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where your day-to-day responsibilities span from supporting the full lifecycle of equity derivative listings to driving process enhancements alongside experienced professionals.
- Assist the equity derivatives team throughout the entire process of listing new products on Bursa Malaysia, including identification of underlying assets, structuring products, and supporting ongoing market-making activities.
- Utilise data analytics to inform business decisions, improve marketing campaigns, refine sales strategies, and support event planning initiatives.
- Develop engaging content for investor communications and presentations, ensuring clarity and professionalism in English; fluency in additional languages is considered an advantage.
- Collaborate with senior colleagues to manage projects involving multiple stakeholders such as regulators, including preparing submission documents for new listings or product launches.
- Work closely with quantitative teams to identify operational gaps and propose improvements through automation or process re-engineering.
- Support the execution of marketing strategies by analysing campaign effectiveness and providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and maintain effective communication channels with internal teams as well as external partners.
- Contribute to the preparation of materials for investor briefings, roadshows, or educational events related to equity derivatives offerings.
- Assist in monitoring regulatory developments relevant to equity derivatives and ensure compliance with applicable guidelines during project execution.
What you bring:
To excel as an Equity Derivatives Sales Specialist, you will bring hands-on experience from financial markets—ideally within equities or derivatives—and demonstrate a keen interest in developing your expertise further.- 2-5 years of relevant experience within financial markets or related fields, ideally with exposure to equity markets or equity derivatives.
- A solid understanding of financial instruments and market structures; familiarity with Bursa Malaysia processes is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure while managing tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with proven capability to articulate complex concepts clearly; proficiency in additional languages is beneficial.
- Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel or other analytics platforms to support business decision making.
- Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues across departments as well as external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of contributing positively within team settings by sharing knowledge and supporting collective goals.
- Securities Commission Module 6 & 7 qualifications are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to pursue further certifications is valued.
- Prior experience in global or institutional sales environments is highly regarded.
