Previous experience or culinary school training in pastry/baking preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of pastry techniques and baking methods.
- Certificate/Diploma in Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts (added advantage)
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for pastry arts.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Assist in the preparation and production of desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods under the guidance of Sous Chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station in compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.
- Complete daily MEP arranged by Sous Chef.
- Measure, mix, and bake ingredients according to established recipes and instructions.
- Properly store ingredients and ensure stock rotation (FIFO).
- Ensure ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and rotated.
- Assist in decorating and presenting pastries and desserts attractively.
- Support the pastry team during service and ensure timely delivery of items.
- Participate in kitchen prep duties as required for the pastry section.
- Adhere to all food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety regulations.
- Stay informed of industry trends, techniques, and developments in pastry arts.
- Help with stock checks and informing supervisors of shortages or spoilage.
- Conduct Weekly & Monthly inventory checks.
- Learn how to place order and plan for daily MEP.
