Internship For Compliance Officer - Halal

Location: Kuala Lumpur / Selangor Area

CertLabs is looking for passionate internship students who are interested to build real industry experience in Halal certification, food safety, documentation, audit preparation, and client coordination.

This role is suitable for students who want to understand how Halal certification works in the real business world — not just theory in class.

What You Will Learn

As an intern, you will be exposed to:

• Halal certification application process
• Preparation of Halal documentation and supporting records
• Ingredient and supplier document checking
• Client communication and project follow-up
• Site visit and audit preparation support
• Basic understanding of JAKIM Halal requirements, GMP, HACCP, and food safety systems
• Internal filing, reporting, and compliance documentation

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who are:

• Currently pursuing Diploma or Degree in Halal Management, Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Islamic Studies, Quality Management, or any related field
• Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English
• Willing to learn and follow instructions
• Detail-oriented and responsible with documentation work
• Comfortable working with clients, checklists, and compliance documents
• Able to work in a fast-paced consultancy environment

Working Arrangement

Internship students may be scheduled up to 45 hours per week, depending on institutional requirements and company arrangement, in line with the company’s internship classification and working hour framework.

• Assist in preparing Halal certification documents, forms, checklists, and supporting records
• Assist in reviewing ingredient lists, supplier documents, product information, and Halal certificates
• Support the team in preparing client files for Halal application, audit, and submission
• Assist in client follow-up related to document collection, missing information, and project updates
• Join site visits, internal checks, and audit preparation activities when required
• Assist in preparing reports, meeting notes, document summaries, and project status updates
• Maintain proper filing and document control for client projects
• Support Certification Officers in coordinating with clients, internal teams, and relevant parties
• Learn and apply basic requirements related to Halal certification, GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance
• Perform other operational and administrative tasks assigned by the company
