Education: Minimum SPM or a Diploma in Automotive Technology, or equivalent technical certification.
- Experience: At least 5 years and above of hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
- License: Must possess a valid driving license (Class D) for road testing vehicles.
- Mandarin or Chinese language speaking preferred to liaise with Mandarin-speaking customers.
- Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: Perform in-depth troubleshooting using diagnostic scanners and specialized tools.
- Maintenance Excellence: Execute routine and major services efficiently while identifying potential future wear-and-tear issues to advise customers.
- Quality Control (QC): Act as the final gatekeeper for quality.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and train junior mechanics, providing technical solutions for difficult cases and ensuring the team follows workshop SOPs.
- Workshop Operations: Manage tool maintenance, enforce safety guidelines, and coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure necessary components are available for timely repairs.
- Technical Support: Collaborate with Service Advisors to provide accurate technical feedback for customer quotations and explain complex issues to customers when necessary.
- Multi-System Knowledge: Strong technical proficiency in engine overhauls, gearbox repairs, advanced electrical wiring, and air-conditioning systems.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to delegate tasks, manage a team’s workflow, and explain technical matters clearly.
- Diagnostic Expertise: Mastery of modern diagnostic software and scanning tools (e.g., Launch, Autel, or brand-specific tools).
