- Conduct routine inspections of mechanical and hydraulic systems, identifying potential issues and reporting them to the lead mechanic for prompt resolution.
- Support the troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions, utilizing mechanical knowledge and technical skills to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and accounted for to prevent accidents and delays.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of mechanical components, following detailed instructions and utilizing appropriate tools to ensure accurate and efficient completion.
- Learn and apply hydraulic principles to assist in the maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and cylinders, under the guidance of experienced mechanics.
- Pay close attention to detail when performing tasks, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and accuracy to prevent future equipment failures.
