Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Certified in recognized safety programs (e.g., DOSH, DOE, NEBOSH, ISO)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in SSHE roles, preferably in the oil & gas
- Strong knowledge of HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, SIL, and Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Familiar with Malaysian safety legislation and international SSHE standards
- Experience with incident investigation, risk assessment, and emergency response planning
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, API RP standards
- Be familiar with HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, SIL, and Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Participate in technical reviews to identify and assess safety risks in project design.
- Contribute to HAZOP and HAZID sessions, ensuring potential hazards are addressed.
- Review FEED and detailed designs to verify integration of SSHE requirements and recommend safety improvements.
- Lead the implementation of SSHE management systems.
- Conduct technical safety studies and cost-benefit assessments.
- Review and improve SSHE plans and strategies to meet industry standards.
- Carry out risk assessments for oil & gas operations and propose safety measures.
- Develop and maintain SSHE policies and procedures in line with legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with regulations by working with government bodies and agencies.
- Conduct regular SSHE audits and inspections to check compliance.
- Lead or support incident investigations and prepare reports and lessons learned.
- Review project documents to ensure design safety and regulatory compliance.
- Promote SSHE through awareness programs, recognition, and communications.
- Provide advice on emergency preparedness and response planning.
- Help the company reduce risks and maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace.
- Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) activities in projects and operations.
- Help review and update HSE Cases and communicate key safety info.
- Prepare SSHE input for project documents like PEP, FDP, and FFR.
- Take part in safety studies and reviews before startup and during operations.
- Develop and update SSHE procedures, including emergency response plans.
- Work with contractors and third parties to manage safety risks.
- Ensure Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) are identified, tested, and maintained.
- Plan and conduct PSM audits to check for proper implementation.
- Support incident investigations and track corrective actions.
- Coordinate SSHE efforts with project teams and contractors.
- Report on process safety performance to support decisions and improvements.
