Minimum of a Diploma in Law or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Possess 3-5 years of progressive experience in a legal executive or similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of legal principles and practices.
- Proven ability in legal research, accurately gathering and analyzing relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract management, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing contractual agreements.
- Solid understanding of corporate law principles, with experience in corporate secretarial duties and compliance matters.
- Proficiency in legal drafting, producing clear, concise, and legally sound documents such as agreements, opinions, and correspondence.
- Experience in compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Familiarity with property law, including conveyancing and land matters, is advantageous.
- Experience in litigation support, assisting with case preparation, evidence gathering, and court filings.
- Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken, is essential. Proficiency in Mandarin is a significant advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to the hotel's management and various departments on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate governance, commercial contracts, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including but not limited to, service agreements, lease agreements, partnership agreements, and employment contracts, ensuring alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
- Conduct thorough legal research on relevant laws and regulations affecting the hospitality industry, property law, and corporate operations in Malaysia, and advise on potential risks and mitigation strategies.
- Manage and oversee the company's contract lifecycle, from initiation and drafting to execution, amendment, and termination, ensuring all contracts are properly documented, stored, and adhered to.
- Assist in managing litigation and dispute resolution processes, including liaising with external counsel, gathering evidence, preparing case files, and providing support throughout the legal proceedings.
- Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including data protection, consumer protection, and licensing requirements, and develop and implement internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Support the legal aspects of property transactions, including due diligence, drafting and reviewing sale and purchase agreements, and managing conveyancing processes for hotel assets.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify legal risks and provide practical solutions, fostering a culture of legal awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
