What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Business Partner Senior Manager at the plant site in Perak, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the workplace experience for all employees. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you partnering closely with plant leaders to translate business priorities into actionable HR strategies that enhance productivity and foster a positive work environment.

  • Serve as the primary advisor on all HR matters for plant leadership, providing guidance on organisational changes, employee relations issues, and people-related decisions.
  • Drive innovative recruitment campaigns and employer branding initiatives to attract top talent while ensuring seamless onboarding experiences for new hires.
  • Oversee foreign worker lifecycle management including manpower planning, permit applications, renewals, cancellations, FOMEMA compliance, and disciplinary processes.
  • Collaborate on annual compensation reviews, bonus structures, promotion exercises, and market benchmarking to maintain competitive positioning within the industry.
  • Implement robust performance management systems encompassing KPI setting, competency development frameworks, and performance-linked reward structures.
  • Design and deliver learning and development programmes focused on leadership growth, technical skill enhancement, managerial training, and succession planning for critical roles.
  • Develop and execute employee engagement strategies such as recognition programmes, team building activities, communication forums, and targeted interventions based on engagement metrics.
  • Manage industrial relations including union negotiations, collective bargaining agreements, grievance resolution processes while ensuring compliance with employment regulations.

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in human resources within manufacturing or industrial environments is essential for success in this role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in union relations including collective bargaining agreements negotiation and grievance resolution processes is required.
  • Proven track record managing SMETA/SEDEX audit processes along with deep understanding of ethical trading compliance standards is necessary.
  • Extensive background in talent management practices including workforce planning, succession planning, recruitment strategy design and employer branding initiatives is expected.
  • Experience overseeing foreign worker programmes including permit applications renewal processes FOMEMA compliance disciplinary procedures is vital.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to provide data-driven insights on compensation benchmarking performance metrics training effectiveness turnover rates etc are important assets.
