Finance manager (immediate) - Kuala Lumpur

Job Title: Finance Manager

Position Summary:

Candidates with a Big 4 background and/or commercial finance experience are highly encouraged to apply. Immediate starters will be given priority.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee full set of accounts and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with MFRS and local statutory requirements.
• Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis, and commentary for senior leadership.
• Manage year-end audit, liaising with external auditors and tax agents.

• Partner with project teams to provide financial insights on job costing, WIP, and margin tracking. ✅
• Monitor project budgets vs. actuals and identify areas for cost improvement. ✅
• Prepare financial models and feasibility analyses for new proposals and project bids.

• Lead annual budgeting process and periodic re-forecasts.
• Track KPIs and support strategic planning efforts across departments.
• Drive financial discipline across the business and advise management on cost-saving initiatives.

• Monitor and manage company cash flow and working capital.
• Oversee banking operations, payments, and collections.
• Forecast funding needs and support in financing arrangements when necessary.

• Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and recommend enhancements.
• Support tax compliance, SST submissions, and ensure all filings are timely and accurate.
• Lead or support the implementation of finance systems or process improvements as needed.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent) preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum 5–8 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably with:
• Commercial experience in project-based or engineering companies
• Big 4 background (audit or advisory)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Candidates who are available to start immediately or on short notice will be prioritised.
