Merchandising Manager

Education: Degree holder & above in any field

• Year of experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in purchasing, including years of experience in managerial role
• Experience in the cosmetics industry, drug store, hypermarket, supermarket, retail, etc,. particularly in makeup product purchasing
• In-depth knowledge of local and international makeup brands and current beauty trends
• Strong skills in vendor negotiation and contract management
• Proven ability in demand forecasting, inventory control, and product planning
• Able to communicate well in English & Mandarin
• Proficient in basic IT tools (e.g., Excel, purchasing/inventory management systems)
• Experience in team management and staff development
• Supervise, manage, and provide leadership to the team of Buyers and Import Specialists, ensuring efficient sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management.
• Set goals, monitor performance, and provide training to develop the skills of Buyers and Import Specialists in procurement, supplier negotiation, and inventory management.
• Establish and implement buying strategies, supplier selection criteria, and pricing negotiation guidelines to maximize cost efficiency and product quality.
• Ensure the team’s alignment with company objectives, market trends, and customer needs while maintaining competitive advantage in product offerings.
• Oversee the management of product displays in-store, ensuring that Buyers and Import Specialists meet company visual merchandising standards for product placement and store presentation.Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, logistics, and sales to ensure product availability, timely deliveries, and promotional support.
• Review and approve supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and delivery schedules to optimize procurement processes.
• Monitor product performance, sales data, and stock levels to advise the team on adjustments to buying strategies and ensure consistent product availability.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with key suppliers and ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards for health, beauty, and food products.
• Lead the procurement team in managing business travel arrangements, including overnight stays for trade shows, supplier visits, and store visits.
• Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, team performance, cost management, and budget adherence to senior management.
• Address any operational challenges or team issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
