What You'll Responsible For:
- Performing service desk duties and 1st line Support.
- Business Application sync/replication monitoring and status update to stakeholders. Ensure high availability of business-critical application.
- Ensure VIT support documentation is updated and reviewed periodically.
- Perform international travel related to IT support cases as required.
- Setup, install & support vessel IT Infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain user, system and operational documentation for vessel IT usage.
- Ensure services are delivered according to WSM principles and guidelines for vessel IT support and best practices as applicable.
- Contribute and ensure vessel IT problem management.
- Contribute and ensure vessel IT Change Management.
- Attend to critical/urgent ticket according to SLA
- Participate in system implementation project onboard the vessels on management.
- Participate in system implementation projects in WSM onshore when required.
What Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or similar tertiary education.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows 10/11 troubleshooting with some experience or training in Installing and configuring Windows Server roles (File Server, Print Server, DHCP).
- Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP concepts, DNS, DHCP, and basic VLAN/NAT principles
- Familiar with setting up or supporting small scale network or switches.
- Basic awareness of VPN technologies (e.g., OpenVPN, IPsec) and willingness to learn more advanced configurations
- Satellite communication integration (VSAT, Starlink)
- Understanding of basic cybersecurity principles (e.g., strong passwords, antivirus use, phishing awareness).
- Good problem-solving mindset and a willingness to work odd hours / on standby duty in remote and dynamic environments.
- Able to follow technical instructions and complete tasks with guidance from senior VIT personnel.
- Eager to grow technical skills through on-the-job training and structured mentoring.
- Ability to fulfil relevant visa requirements for international travel.
