What you'll do:

As a Tax Manager based in Putrajaya, you will play an integral role in guiding the Group’s approach to taxation by providing strategic advice on efficiency planning while ensuring rigorous compliance with all relevant regulations. Your day-to-day activities will involve reviewing complex tax computations, identifying new opportunities for optimisation, managing risk exposure across various jurisdictions, and executing impactful projects that align with broader business objectives.

You will also serve as a key liaison between the company and external advisors or authorities during audits or appeals. In addition to these core duties, you will be instrumental in developing robust policies and maintaining critical databases that underpin effective decision-making.

  • Identify key tax opportunities while proactively managing potential risks associated with both domestic and cross-border transactions.
  • Plan and execute complex tax projects that drive value for the organisation, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Liaise effectively with external tax advisors, authorities, and relevant bodies on applications, appeals, audits, and other matters requiring expert input.
  • Formulate clear tax policies and procedures that support consistent application across the Group’s operations.
  • Manage and develop the Group’s tax database and portal, ensuring information is up-to-date, secure, and accessible for decision-making purposes.
  • Mentor subordinates by providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster greater effectiveness and engagement within the team.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors or designated representatives to support departmental goals.

  • Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge across multiple areas of taxation including international/cross-border transactions, corporate income tax, personal income tax, withholding taxes, and indirect taxes such as GST/VAT.
  • Show resourcefulness combined with strong analytical skills that enable you to interpret complex legislation while delivering practical solutions for the business.
  • Exhibit outstanding project management capabilities allowing you to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously without compromising quality or deadlines.
