If you are passionate about making a difference in a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and continuous learning, this role is designed for you.

  • Enjoy a fully on-site position in Kuala Lumpur with a generous annual salary package ranging from RM216,000 to RM240,000, reflecting the importance of your expertise and commitment.
  • Take ownership of high-impact tax projects including OECD CbCR filings, transfer pricing compliance, e-invoicing implementation, and strategic advisory initiatives that span over 20 jurisdictions and 450+ legal entities.
  • Benefit from working in an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration, ongoing learning, and the development of both technical and interpersonal skills through hands-on project leadership and team supervision.

What you'll do:

As a Tax Manager based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be entrusted with significant responsibility for steering the group’s global tax compliance agenda. Your day-to-day will involve orchestrating the entire lifecycle of Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) filings—right from data gathering through to final submission—while ensuring seamless coordination among local finance teams spread across numerous jurisdictions.
You will also take charge of preparing comprehensive transfer pricing documentation annually, leading consultations with both internal stakeholders and external advisors. In addition to these core duties, you will act as a trusted advisor on indirect tax matters such as sales and service tax legislation updates as well as international tax issues like treaty access or permanent establishment risks.
Your ability to communicate complex concepts clearly will be invaluable when presenting information packs for senior management or board-level audiences. Furthermore, you will supervise junior team members by providing structured feedback and reviewing their outputs for technical soundness.

Success in this role hinges on your capacity to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail under tight deadlines—all within an environment that values teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

  • Lead the preparation and submission of OECD Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) filings by coordinating data collection and validation across more than 450 legal entities operating in over 20 jurisdictions.
  • Present online training sessions to large groups of stakeholders across different regions, ensuring clarity around data collection processes and CbCR instructions.
  • Collaborate closely with local finance teams worldwide to gather accurate financial and operational data, often liaising with more than 40 finance professionals across multiple countries.
  • Oversee notification tracking and local filing requirements by working hand-in-hand with regional stakeholders and external advisors to ensure full compliance.
  • Assess new regulatory requirements and manage the end-to-end preparation of EU and Australian Public CbCR submissions, maintaining consistency with OECD standards and public disclosure obligations.
  • Prepare or review risk analysis papers that identify potential risk areas or red flags related to CbCR activities, ensuring robust governance controls are maintained at all times.
  • Supervise the annual preparation, review, and update of Master File and Local Files for transfer pricing purposes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with global standards.
  • Project manage the consultation process for Local Files by engaging internal teams and external advisors, setting clear timelines, chairing meetings with diverse participants, summarising key points concisely, and delegating follow-up actions effectively.
  • Respond promptly to transfer pricing audits or enquiries from tax authorities while monitoring global developments in transfer pricing regulations to assess their impact on business operations.
  • Advise on indirect tax matters such as sales and service tax compliance issues, provide guidance on international tax topics including permanent establishment risks or cross-border structuring, and support new business models or reorganisations from a tax perspective.

What you bring:

To excel as a Tax Manager in this role, you will bring substantial experience handling complex tax compliance projects across multiple jurisdictions—ideally within large multinational organisations. Your background should include deep familiarity with OECD guidelines on transfer pricing as well as hands-on involvement in preparing CbCR filings for extensive entity structures.
You are comfortable managing competing priorities under pressure while upholding rigorous standards of accuracy. Your interpersonal strengths shine through when collaborating with colleagues from varied disciplines or guiding junior team members towards shared goals.

A keen eye for detail combined with strong analytical thinking enables you to translate intricate legislative changes into practical business solutions swiftly. Above all else, your approach is grounded in empathy—valuing open communication channels that foster trust among stakeholders—and your commitment to nurturing talent ensures that those around you grow alongside you.

  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-jurisdictional tax compliance projects involving large volumes of data across hundreds of legal entities in diverse regulatory environments.
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex deliverables involving multiple stakeholders—including finance teams from different countries—and present technical information clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of meeting tight deadlines globally while maintaining high standards of accuracy under pressure.
  • In-depth understanding of OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines, BEPS Action 13 requirements, local transfer pricing rules, CbCR obligations, and recent legislative changes affecting multinational groups.
  • Excellent analytical skills enabling you to distil complex information quickly into actionable steps or risk assessments relevant for business decision-making.
  • Experience supervising junior staff members by assigning tasks clearly, reviewing outputs constructively for accuracy or compliance issues, coaching them through structured feedback sessions.
  • Outstanding communication skills allowing you to build rapport with colleagues from finance, IT or legal backgrounds as well as external advisors; adept at navigating conflicting views towards practical solutions.
  • Ability to maintain composure during peak filing periods or last-minute regulatory changes by prioritising effectively without compromising quality or stakeholder relationships.
  • A proactive mindset focused on anticipating obstacles early—offering practical workarounds or mitigation plans—and escalating issues appropriately when needed along with clear recommendations.
