Reports To: Finance Manager / Project Finance Controller

Job Summary

The ideal candidate should have experience in project-based accounting, preferably within the construction or oil & gas industry.

• Monitor, track, and report on project financials, including budgets, forecasts, costs, margins, and revenue recognition.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of project-related transactions in compliance with company policies and relevant financial standards (e.g., MFRS/IFRS).
• Work closely with project managers and site teams to track project progress and validate cost-to-completion estimates.
• Review and verify subcontractor claims, supplier invoices, and project-related expenditures.
• Perform variance analysis between actuals and budgets/forecasts; identify and flag cost overruns or deviations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly project P&L reports and WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules.
• Reconcile project accounts and ensure all project-related financial records are up to date.
• Support internal and external audits related to project accounts.
• Liaise with commercial, procurement, and contract teams to ensure contract terms are reflected accurately in financial reporting.
• Ensure timely billing and collection of project milestones, VO (Variation Orders), and retention claims.
• Participate in project closeout activities including final cost reporting and reconciliation.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in project accounting, preferably within EPCC, construction, oil & gas, or engineering industries.
• Knowledge of contract accounting (e.g., MFRS 15 / IFRS 15 – Revenue from Contracts with Customers) is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with project costing tools or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IFCA, or equivalent).
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to work across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Experience handling multiple projects concurrently.
• Familiarity with project billing, progressive claims, VO processing, and project budgeting.
