Possess a Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field, providing a strong foundation in culinary techniques and kitchen management.
- Required skills: Food Preparation, Inventory Management, Staff Supervision, Quality Control, Food Safety Knowledge, Culinary Creativity, Menu Planning
- Demonstrate a minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a professional kitchen environment, showcasing progressive growth and expertise in culinary operations.
- Exhibit proficiency in food preparation techniques, including but not limited to: grilling, frying, baking, and sauce making, ensuring consistent quality and taste.
- Manage inventory effectively, including ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients, while minimizing waste and maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure that all dishes meet the cafe's standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Apply comprehensive food safety knowledge to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to all relevant health regulations and guidelines.
- Exhibit culinary creativity in developing new dishes and menu items, incorporating local and international flavors to enhance the cafe's offerings.
- Contribute to menu planning and development, considering factors such as seasonality, cost, and customer preferences, to create a balanced and appealing menu.
- Communicate effectively in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, facilitating clear communication with staff, suppliers, and customers.
- Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and portion sizes, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
- Manage and oversee daily food preparation activities, coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
- Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to meet budgetary guidelines.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all dishes meet established standards for taste, appearance, and safety.
