What you'll do:
As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that every aspect of external warehouse management runs smoothly.- Supervise the receiving and storage of finished goods within external warehouse facilities, ensuring all documentation is accurate and inventory records are meticulously maintained.
- Oversee the optimal utilisation of warehouse space by implementing effective stock rotation practices and ensuring timely replenishment of goods as required by business needs.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, including cycle counts and audits, to uphold high standards of accuracy across all stock records.
- Implement best practices in warehouse operations with the aim of improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing overall productivity within the facility.
- Optimise truck scheduling and loading procedures to achieve improved turnaround times for deliveries while minimising delays or bottlenecks.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Distribution, Sales, and Quality teams to ensure alignment with broader business objectives and smooth operational flow.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, order fulfilment rates, and overall warehouse efficiency to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leverage technology platforms such as SAP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to streamline processes and enhance data-driven decision-making throughout warehouse operations.
What you bring:
To excel as an Assistant Warehouse Manager in this setting, your background should reflect substantial experience within warehousing or supply chain functions where dependability was paramount.- A Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a closely related field
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience working within warehouse operations, logistics or supply chain environments where you have demonstrated reliability.
- Your understanding of external warehouse management principles—including inventory control techniques and logistics coordination—is comprehensive and up-to-date.
- Familiarity with SAP software as well as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is highly desirable; experience using these tools will give you an advantage in streamlining operations.
- Previous exposure to handling bonded goods would be considered beneficial for this role but is not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal communication abilities allow you to provide clear guidance while nurturing team members’ growth within a supportive environment.
- You demonstrate sound judgement when it comes to problem-solving—balancing operational demands with regulatory requirements effectively.
- A proven track record of contributing positively towards process enhancements or cost reduction initiatives within warehousing or logistics settings is highly valued.
