Resident Engineer

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Registered with BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia) or in the process of registration (for engineers).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in site supervision of civil engineering projects. Candidates with experience in Construction (Main Contractor) will be added advantage.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiar with Malaysian building codes, regulations, and local authority requirements.
- Experience in high-rise, commercial, or mixed-use developments is an added advantage.
- Willing to be based on-site full-time.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software.
- Possess valid driving license and own transport (if required).
- Site Supervision & Quality Control
- Inspect and monitor all on-site works including architectural, M&E, structural, and interior design to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and statutory requirements.
- Carry out regular site inspections, record findings, and highlight non-conformances to the project team.
- Verify materials, workmanship, and installation methods to ensure adherence to approved standards.
- Ensure that contractors’ work meets quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors to resolve technical or quality issues promptly.
- Attend site meetings and provide accurate updates on work progress, site conditions, and quality issues.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly site reports, including photographs, progress summaries, and non-compliance reports.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Review shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test results, and remedial actions taken.
- Monitor adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations at site.
- Testing & Commissioning
- Witness testing and commissioning of M&E systems and verify results against specifications and compliance.
- Verify rectification works and snagging/defects lists during pre-handover inspections.
- Handover & Post-Construction
- Assist the project team in conducting final inspections and preparing handover documents.
- Monitor defects rectification during the defects liability period.
