Senior Interior Designer

Position Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop complete design documentation in a timely manner, including layout plans, 3D perspectives, detailed drawings, materials, furniture, equipment and technical specifications for new outlet openings, revamp outlets, flagship or themed outlets, and ZUS Signature premium outlets.
• Occasionally prepare tender lot drawings for secured sites and develop hoarding visuals as required per project.

• Coordinate closely with internal teams (Fit-Out, QS), key stakeholders (Operations, Marketing, Brand), and external parties (Architects, Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers) to ensure design feasibility, accuracy, and constructability.

• Support construction or fit-out phases by resolving design-related site issues, addressing discrepancies, and responding to last-minute changes when required.

• Ensure all design outputs adhere to brand standards, operational requirements, site-specific needs, and relevant local regulations (e.g., mall or authority guidelines).
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal design manuals, standard templates, and detail libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency across all projects.
• Continuously explore design optimizations that enhance cost-effectiveness and buildability, without compromising the integrity or identity of the brand.

• Perform additional design-related tasks as assigned by the superior or management.

• Ensuring all submitted drawings and documents meet visual, technical, and formatting standards before release.

• Assist in organizing, archiving, and maintaining updated drawing sets, standard templates, and guideline documents across all projects.
• Provide light administrative support by managing department-related files and documentation.

• Proactively introduce new materials, finishes, or design ideas to improve aesthetics, functionality, or cost efficiency.
• Support communication and coordination with internal stakeholders or external parties (e.g., suppliers, contractors) on design-related discussions, sample sourcing, or minor negotiations.

• Mentor and guide junior designers within the team, reviewing their drawings and offering design input when needed.
• Occasionally assist in onboarding new team members by guiding them through design standards, templates, or tools.

• Diploma / Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in retail / F&B / commercial interior design.
• Proven ability to produce full design documentation sets, from layout plans, 3D visuals, to technical and detailed drawings.
• Experience in design & build environments or fast-paced rollout projects is highly preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, and rendering tools (e.g., Enscape).
• Good understanding of materials, finishes, construction methods, and buildability.
• Knowledge of design documentation standards, submission requirements, and cross-department coordination.
• Ability to read and coordinate with drawings from consultants (M&E, C&S, Architect).
• Strong project coordination and time management skills.
