Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) roles, preferably within the manufacturing or steel industry.
  • Proven experience in implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001 standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Environmental Compliance regulations and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety Regulations and best practices, including risk assessment methodologies and the development of safety procedures.
  • Experience in conducting internal and external audits to ensure compliance with QHSE standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in documentation control and record-keeping for all QHSE-related activities and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with employees at all levels, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential for effective communication within the company and with local authorities.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues, and areas for improvement within the manufacturing facility, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support the development and delivery of QHSE training programs for employees, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring adherence to established safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date QHSE documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, incident reports, and training records, ensuring effective documentation control.
  • Participate in risk assessment activities to identify and evaluate potential risks associated with operations, proposing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize workplace accidents and environmental impact.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and environmental legislation, liaising with regulatory bodies as required.
  • Assist in the investigation of QHSE incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
