As a Data Application Support Analyst based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of vital banking applications. - Provide comprehensive application and data support to business users by responding promptly to queries and incidents related to data warehouse, finance, and compliance systems.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving ETL pipelines (Informatica, SSIS), business intelligence tools (Power BI, SSAS), and underlying databases to maintain optimal system performance.
- Reverse-engineer user queries and reports in order to trace data lineage, understand transformation logic, and identify source systems for accurate issue resolution.
- Analyse intricate SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to diagnose problems and deliver effective solutions that uphold data quality standards.
- Perform thorough root cause analysis on recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes that enhance system reliability over time.
- Collaborate with developers during solution implementation phases and manage smooth transitions of new releases into production environments.
- Ensure strict adherence to incident management, problem management, and change management processes in line with ITIL best practices.
- Participate actively in capacity planning exercises, performance monitoring activities, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity management (BCM) initiatives.
- Contribute valuable insights to management reporting tasks as well as project initiatives led by the central team for continuous improvement.

- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field which demonstrates your foundational understanding of technology principles relevant to this role.
- At least five years’ experience working within application development or support functions in Banking & Finance environments—especially those focused on ETL processes or Data Warehousing.
- Proven hands-on expertise with major database platforms such as Teradata, Oracle or MS SQL; familiarity with advanced querying techniques is essential for success.
- Practical experience using ETL tools like Informatica or SSIS enables you to manage complex data flows effectively within large-scale enterprise settings.
- Exposure to Big Data technologies including Hadoop (Cloudera) or Hive allows you to handle diverse datasets efficiently across distributed architectures.
- Competence with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI or SSAS supports your ability to deliver actionable insights from raw data sources.
- Comfort working on Unix/Linux platforms as well as legacy systems like AS400; proficiency in Control-M scheduling or Shell scripting is highly valued.
- A strong grasp of banking products, financial instruments and regulatory reporting requirements ensures your solutions align with industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with proven incident & problem management expertise enable you to resolve issues swiftly while minimising disruption.
