Software Development Lead - Financial Services (Java)

A leading financial services organisation in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Development Lead to drive the delivery of high-impact digital solutions. This full-time role is perfect for someone passionate about building robust applications and leading talented teams through complex tech projects.

• Lead end-to-end development of secure, scalable platforms in the financial services space
• Guide cross-functional teams through design, development, testing, and deployment
• Champion best practices in architecture, compliance, and quality standards
• Collaborate with stakeholders to turn business needs into smart, actionable tech
• Mentor developers and analysts while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

• 8–10 years of experience in delivery management, software engineering, and team leadership
• Strong hands-on skills in Java (J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Batch), Unix/Linux scripting, and integration tools like IBM MQ, RESTful APIs, and SOAP
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Maven) and enterprise architecture principles
• Experience with databases (Oracle, MS SQL, NoSQL) and cloud/open-source technologies
• Financial services domain knowledge—especially in cards or transactional platforms—is a big plus
• A degree in Computer Science or related field; certifications like TOGAF are a bonus
