Possess a Degree in Physiotheraphy/Occupational Therapy.
- Registered with the relevant professional body (if applicable).
- Minimum 2 years of related physiotherapy/occupational therapy experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Hand Therapy interventions, practise methods and professional skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and protocols in hand therapy.
- Good understanding of roles of other health care professionals.
- Up-to-date knowledge of hand rehabilitation theories, practises and procedures.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in hand therapy and rehabilitation.
- Basic knowledge of hand anatomy, common hand injuries, and conditions.
- Ability to perform basic hand therapy assessments and treatments under supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and the healthcare team.
- Committed to providing high-quality patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of computer software (email, internet) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply for entry-level position.
- To be professionally accountable for all aspects of own work, including management of patients in your care.
- To adhere to proper care and safe working practises in handling patients and equipment.
- To undertake assessment of patients, using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques.
- With appropriate support, to formulate prognosis and recommend best course of intervention, including developing discharge plans.
- Liaise with other healthcare providers to provide and receive relevant information about medical history and progress in regards to patients’ care.
- To formulate and deliver hand therapy treatment programmes based upon knowledge of evidence of the treatment options available.
- To monitor patient during treatment and reassess patient after completion of every treatment rendered.
- To continually evaluate patients’ progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes if required.
- To ensure adequate education and counseling of patients and their relatives in the course of a patient’s rehabilitation.
- To continually ensure a safe and clean working station.
- To be responsible for planning and prioritizing your own patient case load.
- To manage clinical risk within own patient case load.
- To be competent for the safe use of all equipment and techniques before use.
- To be responsible for maintaining up-to-date clinical records.
- To maintain relevant statistical information.
