Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer (Melaka)

The E&I Engineer is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the plant's electrical and instrumentation systems, including the DCS. This role also provides critical support to the Operations team to ensure the plant operates at its optimum condition, according to company standards.This position is based at the Melaka site but requires support for the Senai plant when necessary.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?- Ensure the plant is operated safely and at its optimum condition according to company standards and requirements.
- Perform site walks and listen for warning signals to determine potential malfunctions and report to management.
- Ensure proper execution and recording in MAXIMO (CMMS) for all maintenance works, especially for E&I and DCS.
- Perform periodic routine checks and monitoring to ensure safe operation.
- Support the implementation of improvement plans and actions from internal and external audits, RCA, and company requirements. Perform corrective actions for any abnormal alarms or signals in the DCS and electrical panels.
- Troubleshoot, analyze abnormal situations, and handle non-routine operational phases.
- Perform and support planned or unplanned operation startups and shutdowns, including TAR (Turnaround).
- Propose projects to add or modify assets in the most profitable way to improve efficiency, reliability, and productivity.
- Be on-call for plant troubleshooting of any unplanned plant issues.
- Liaise, support, and coordinate with other departments and external parties (e.g., customers, suppliers, procurement, project, E2E team) on day-to-day work.
- Conduct any necessary training for operators and in-house contractors.
- Take part in safety activities like ERP, JHA, emergency drills, and incident reporting.
- Adhere strictly to the Air Liquide Industrial Management System, Quality Management System, and local laws and regulations.
- Manage site activities comprising operations and report any non-conformities, including Food and Pharma Requirements.
- Operate control panels and control systems to regulate process parameters to ensure the required production and meet customers' demand.
- Perform, operate, and monitor the day-to-day operation of process plants, storage, backup, and utility systems.
- Ensure proper management and recording of spare parts, ordering more when the stock falls below the safety limit.
- Perform month-end reporting for operations.
- Ensure all tasks are performed safely with adequate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Serve as a committee member in the Halal committee to ensure compliance with relevant standards and requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Hands-on experience with E&I systems, DCS/PLC systems (e.g., Yokogawa, Siemens), and CMMS is preferably..
- Experience in handling projects.
- Good and effective communication skills
