A newly created Strategy Consultant position has just been made available with a growing global education provider. This role is a fully remote position to be based in Malaysia, however require 50% travelling as it's a regional role.

What you'll do:

As a Strategy Consultant based in Kuala Lumpur, you will immerse yourself in an exciting portfolio of responsibilities that centre around building bridges between leading universities across continents. Your day-to-day activities will involve developing robust strategic plans tailored for each partner institution—plans that not only reflect current market trends but also anticipate future needs.
You will collaborate extensively with academic teams to roll out innovative content and experiences that enrich student learning journeys. By taking charge of go-to-market strategies for new pathway programmes, you will ensure these initiatives reach their full potential in terms of scale and impact.
Your role extends beyond planning; you will actively guide enrolment advisors through every stage of the student recruitment process while championing an exceptional experience for every learner transitioning into advanced degree pathways. Regularly convening steering committees allows you to keep all stakeholders aligned towards shared goals.

Through proactive promotion of new opportunities and adept management of any issues that arise, you will help sustain strong partnerships built on trust and mutual benefit. The position requires adaptability as priorities shift rapidly—your ability to remain responsive while nurturing collaborative relationships will be key to your success.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partner coordination regarding academic benefits within the region, collaborating closely with both academic and regional teams to ensure seamless communication.
  • Develop and regularly update comprehensive strategic plans in partnership with institutions, including market analysis, projections, implementation roadmaps for pathway programmes, curriculum enhancements, and experiential learning initiatives.
  • Coordinate with academic teams to systematically deploy content, experiences, and collaborations at each partner institution while monitoring adoption rates and satisfaction levels among stakeholders.
  • Lead the execution of go-to-market strategies for new pathway programmes, ensuring effective commercialisation and alignment with institutional goals across multiple regions.
  • Drive conversion throughout the entire marketing funnel by guiding regional enrolment advisors in a matrix structure from initial lead generation through to student enrolment.
  • Take ownership of the complete student journey for those enrolled in pathway programmes, working collaboratively with cross-functional leads at each institution to guarantee a smooth transition into advanced degree offerings.
  • Organise and facilitate steering committee meetings designed to engage stakeholders at all levels, provide updates on progress, address challenges proactively, and drive successful programme implementation.
  • Promote new opportunities to partners and students by delivering clear communications and educational sessions that highlight the value of academic collaborations.
  • Manage escalations efficiently by coordinating issue resolution processes between internal teams and external partners to maintain high standards of client satisfaction.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining focus on long-term objectives and fostering positive relationships across diverse cultural contexts.

To excel as a Strategy Consultant in this influential role, you will bring extensive experience gained from senior positions within client management or product/project management—ideally within higher education or related sectors. Your ability to communicate persuasively—both verbally and in writing—will enable you to build consensus among stakeholders from varied backgrounds.

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or technology-related discipline combined with at least ten years’ relevant experience in client management or product/project management roles; three years should include supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
  • Experience in management consultant role will be an added advantage
  • Proven background in academic programme operations or equivalent experience demonstrating comparable skills acquired through alternative routes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business development or marketing within an educational context is highly desirable.
  • A master’s qualification or higher is preferred for candidates seeking to excel in this role.
  • A track record of successfully managing products or clients while influencing stakeholders across various organisational levels and functions.
  • Experience living, working or travelling abroad coupled with comfort working alongside international colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with global higher education systems—particularly knowledge of academic articulations or dual degree programmes; understanding US education models is advantageous.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally within Malaysia as well as internationally across Asia Pacific and Europe up to 50% of the time.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills enabling clear communication with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Advanced project management abilities complemented by people management skills, stakeholder engagement expertise, financial analysis proficiency, problem-solving acumen within complex organisations, and multilingual communication capabilities.
