Johor Bahru - Purchasing Executive (A Regional Industry Leader company)

We are hiring on behalf of an industry-leading manufacturer with a strong reputation for innovation, product quality, and export excellence. They are currently seeking a Purchasing Executive to support their growing operations in Tampoi, Johor Bahru.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Duties (70–80%):

  • Handle procurement of raw materials, semi-finished goods, packaging, spare parts, and indirect items from local and overseas sources.
  • Issue and manage Purchase Orders (PO) to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure completeness of purchase requirements (samples, quotations) before supplier engagement.
  • Monitor stock levels, material usage, and ensure timely delivery to avoid production delays.
  • Prepare purchasing reports and forecasts for management.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with new and existing suppliers for cost-effective, reliable materials.
  • Maintain purchasing documentation, quality records, and supplier performance data.
  • Coordinate sample testing and maintain test result records.
  • Supervise and review subordinates’ work to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Secondary Duties (20–30%):

  • Conduct annual supplier evaluations and site visits as needed.
  • Prepare yearly supplier performance charts and participate in review meetings with management.
  • Issue internal transfer notes and generate shipping stickers as per requirement.
  • Assist with any additional tasks related to procurement and inventory operations.

Requirements
  • Diploma, Degree, or Professional Certificate in a relevant field.
  • 1–2 years of working experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role.
  • Strong negotiation, organization, and communication skills.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Familiarity with PO systems, supplier sourcing, and inventory tracking is an added advantage.
