What you'll do:
As Country Finance Manager based in Kuala Lumpur, you will take on a broad remit encompassing all aspects of financial stewardship for the local entity. Your days will be varied—ranging from overseeing core accounting operations to managing complex treasury activities and ensuring compliance with both internal controls and external regulations.You will work closely with auditors during year-end closings, coordinate tax matters with agents, and enforce adherence to local tax laws. In addition to these core responsibilities, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior management by providing insightful financial analysis that supports both long-term strategy formulation and achievement of annual targets.
Your ability to streamline reporting processes, optimise cost allocations between country finance teams and shared service centres, and lead transformative projects such as system migrations will be crucial for success. - Oversee the smooth day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring all accounting, treasury, controlling, and audit functions are executed efficiently and accurately.
- Manage the timely compilation of statutory financial statements as well as internal management reports for group consolidation purposes.
- Implement effective credit management procedures to ensure prompt receipt of payments from customers while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Coordinate payment processes to guarantee timely disbursement to employees and suppliers in full compliance with relevant guidelines and policies.
- Liaise closely with statutory auditors to facilitate year-end closing activities and ensure all necessary procedures are completed accurately.
- Adapt and implement budgetary controls, forecasts, capital expenditure plans, and fixed asset management strategies in line with organisational objectives.
- Supervise inter-company transactions related to Asia Pacific service charges and shared service centre allocations, resolving any allocation-related issues efficiently.
- Lead treasury activities including liquidity management, hedging strategies, bank relationship management, and preparation of treasury-related reports as required by group guidelines.
- Manage financial internal controls and conduct risk assessments for the legal entity to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Drive finance-related projects such as E-Invoice implementation or SAP S4 HANA migration while continuously seeking process improvements.

- Hold a degree in Accounting or possess a recognised accountancy qualification which demonstrates your technical proficiency in financial management.
- Bring 5-8 years of progressive experience across Accounting, Taxation, Audit—with additional exposure to Business Partnering, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Controlling or Treasury considered highly advantageous.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Windows & Microsoft applications alongside practical experience using SAP systems for financial reporting and process automation.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal abilities that enable you to build trust-based relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of finance operations including statutory requirements for taxation, corporate secretarial duties, transfer pricing regulations, custom duties, withholding tax obligations, import licensing procedures and more.
- Showcase proven experience coordinating with external auditors during year-end closings as well as managing interactions with tax agents for accurate computation/submission/payment of corporate taxes.
- Display an aptitude for implementing credit management frameworks that support healthy cash flow while minimising risk exposure from overdue receivables.
- Have hands-on involvement in leading or supporting finance transformation projects such as ERP migrations (e.g., SAP S4 HANA) or digital invoicing implementations within multinational environments.
- Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail when enforcing compliance protocols—ensuring all internal controls are robustly maintained throughout daily operations.
- Be adept at providing actionable insights through rigorous financial analysis that informs strategic decision-making at both operational and executive levels.
