Quality Engineer/ Technician - Johor Bahru

Education:

• Engineer: Bachelor’s+ in Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronics, or related.
• Technician: Associate degree+ in Science/Engineering or high school with relevant experience.
• Able to speak in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin

Knowledge & Skills:

• Read and interpret 2D/3D sheet metal & machining drawings, tolerances.
• Familiar with laser cutting, bending, turning, milling processes.
• Skilled in tools like calipers, micrometers, CMM.

Technician: Basic knowledge.

Strong Excel skills for data analysis.

Experience:

• Engineer: 3–5 years in sheet metal/machining quality control.
• Technician: 1–3 years hands-on QC experience.

Competencies:

• Continuous learning mindset.
• Adaptable to shop floor and overtime work.

Preferred:

• Quality certifications (e.g., CQE).
• Drawing Review: Analyze and mark key dimensions/tolerances; coordinate with design/process teams.
• First Article Inspection: Full checks on new/changed products; record and decide acceptance.
• In-Process Inspection: Monitor production, equipment, and process compliance; catch issues early.
• Tool Management: Calibrate/manage measuring tools; maintain accuracy records.
• Data Analysis: Use SPC and data trends to support quality improvements.
• Defect Handling: Identify, isolate, analyze (5M method), and resolve defects.
• Documentation: Maintain inspection guides, records, and share learnings.
• Training/Collaboration: Train frontline staff; work with R&D, procurement, and others to improve quality.
