Internship Conservocation Intern
Overview:
YELL is a joint programme of the UNDP Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei Darussalam and UNICEF Malaysia, in collaboration with Amanah Lestari Alam (ALAM), the European Union (EU), and the OSK Foundation.
The YELL Conservocation Programme is a 6-month paid internship programme designed to equip young individuals with hands-on experience in conservation and sustainability, preparing them for impactful careers in the environmental sector.
Through this programme, 25 passionate young individuals will be placed with leading environmental organisations across Malaysia, working on real-world conservation projects, learning directly from experts and engaging in meaningful environmental initiatives.The internship not only supports the work of host organisations but also fosters intergenerational knowledge transfer, allowing budding environmental stewards to gain insights from seasoned practitioners.

Commitment:
- Full-time paid internship for 6 months
- Working hours and locations vary based on host organisation requirements
- Some internships may require travel or field visits
Who we’re looking for:
- Youths between 18-30 years old
- Residing in Malaysia
- Interest in conservation and sustainability with a strong interest in environmental work
- Willing to commit to 6 months full-time in an organisation
- Proactive, adaptable and self-motivated, with the ability to work both in a team and independently.
- Physically prepared for fieldwork as some placements may involve outdoor activities, long hours in nature, or travel to remote areas
- Good communication skills – ability to engage with local communities, stakeholders, and team members
- Proficient in basic technology – comfortable using a laptop, Microsoft Office, and social media for documentation and content creation
