SINGER (MALAYSIA) SND BHD Petaling Jaya Internship
The Java Developer / Programmer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing in-house applications and backend systems that support Singer (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and its subsidiary, Berjaya Credit Sdn Bhd’s nationwide operations, including retail, credit, and customer service platforms.
This role involves full software development lifecycle tasks including design, coding, testing, deployment, and documentation. The ideal candidate will be technically competent, self-driven, and solutions-oriented with a strong passion for clean, efficient code.
Key Responsibilities:-
Application Development- Design, develop, test, and deploy secure and scalable Java applications and system modules.
- Maintain and enhance existing in-house applications and system integrations.
- Collaborate with business users and analysts to gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
- Develop and maintain APIs and system interfaces for retail, credit, and operational platforms.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of applications.
- Document system design, architecture, and codebase for ongoing support and scalability.
- Ensure code quality, security, and compliance with internal standards and data protection policies.
- Work closely with IT operations, QA, database teams, and external vendors when necessary.
- Provide technical support to internal users and participate in system upgrades or rollouts.
Qualifications & Technical Requirements:-
Education & Certification- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Java/PHP certification or Database Administration is an added advantage.
- Proficient in Java Application development in Linux environment
- Experience with Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful APIs, and JDBC.
- Familiar with HTML, JavaScript, JSP/Servlets, and Database (especially Oracle or MySQL).
- Familiar with database/Report tools (e.g. PL/Sql, Squirrel) and Jasper Report.
- Knowledge in ERP system development, financial systems, or credit scoring systems is a plus.
- Experience in Mobile apps development is an added advantage.
- 1–2 years of working experience in Java development (Senior role requires 3+ years).
- Experience in Full Project life Cycle is an added advantage.
