Our client, a top automotive company in Malaysia with a network of more than 10 outlets, is seeking a General Ledger (GL) Executive to join their team.

What you'll do:
As a General Ledger (GL) Executive, your role will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity of our client's financial operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all accounting processes adhere to established principles and internal controls.Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in monitoring accruals, verifying journal entries, and ensuring accurate document processing. You will also collaborate closely with other finance teams to ensure comprehensive inter-company transactions.
Beyond these responsibilities, you will also play a key role in process improvement initiatives within the Finance department, contributing towards modernisation efforts.
- Ensure that accounting processes and journal entries are in accordance with relevant accounting principles, internal controls, and group policy.
- Monitor accrual/provisioning amounts on a regular basis.
- Ensure that journal entries are supported with relevant documents for verification and approval purpose.
- Responsible for validating and processing all documents before month end closing or stipulated deadline.
- Check overtrades support claim to ensure accuracy and timely follow up.
- Work closely with Northern and Perak Finance Operations team to ensure completeness of inter-company transactions accounted in respective company’s book.
- Prepare relevant schedules and reports for the compilation of additional financial information.
- Analyse and comment on the Management Report for Manager, Finance Operations.
- Assist in checking accuracy of budget information uploaded into HFM and highlight or query on any unusual trend.
- Participate in the development of process improvement in Finance and uphold modernization of finance skillsets.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the General Ledger (GL) Executive role will bring a wealth of finance experience, with at least 3 years in a progressively growing capacity. You will hold a Diploma/Degree, preferably in finance or an Accounting qualification.Your strong background in internal controls and industry knowledge of best practice for finance operations will be key to your success in this role. Excellent written and verbal English skills are essential, as is your proven experience in team growth and transformation implementation.
Your ability to manage tasks systematically, communicate effectively, and handle challenging discussions with diplomacy and logic will set you apart.
- Minimum 3 years finance experience in a progressively growing capacity.
- Diploma/Degree (any level), preferably in finance , and/or Accounting qualification (any type).
- Strong internal controls background, industry knowledge of best practice for finance operations.
- Strong command of written and verbal English.
- Proven experience in growing a team and implementing transformation with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Good time-management skills and able to manage task in a systematic manner.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills to handle challenging discussion with diplomacy and logic.
- Ability to simplify complex issues and communicate effectively.
- Team player, highly motivated, proactive, and creative.
