Legal intern

The Position

The internship will see you exposed to various functions of the Legal Department as well as coaching/mentoring sessions regarding your potential career path as a lawyer in practice or in-house.

This Internship Programme is aimed at a 3 month duration. However, we can be flexible to accommodate longer or shorter durations on a case-to-case basis.

key accountabilities of the role include:

1. Conducting legal research on matters for our Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong businesses;
2. Assist in the preparation & review of commercial contracts and related documents;
3. Support legal compliance activities and processes of the Legal function;
4. Researching and reviewing new legislation and regulations that are applicable to our businesses in the region;
5. Assist with the legal administration matters and general requirements of the business including maintaining a central repository of contractual documentation for recordkeeping purposes;
6. Support digitalisation of the legal function projects;
7. Record minutes of meetings and circulating same;
8. Assist with preparing legal training materials and communications; and
9. Carry out such additional duties as may reasonably be required by the legal team from time to time.

Requirements:

1. Recent law graduates (including those awaiting CLP examination or result) or current law students
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
3. The role requires fluency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu.
4. Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in Mandarin is also essential, given that the position involves reviewing documents and communicating in that language.
5. Accountable and committed to support the assigned task(s) with professionalism.
6. Willingness to take up new challenges and to learn in a corporate environment.
7. Having a positive attitude, solution focused approach and being a teamplayer.
