about the job ...- Standing as the Consultant’s Representative on-site to supervise, monitor, and inspect all Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) works, ensuring full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and engineering standards.
- Reviewing, checking, and providing technical feedback on contractor submittals, including shop drawings, method statements, material samples, and Requests for Information (RFIs) specific to data center requirements.
- Witnessing, verifying, and certifying all crucial on-site engineering tests, including piling, structural concrete casting, steelwork inspections, and architectural waterproofing tests.
- Coordinating closely with the internal MEP consultancy team to ensure seamless structural integration of heavy equipment loads, containment pathways, and cleanroom architectural requirements.
- Identifying site non-conformances, issuing formal non-conformance reports (NCRs) to contractors, and advising on appropriate engineering remedial measures.
- Preparing comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly technical progress reports for the Principal Consultant and Client Representative.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university, with active registration as a Graduate/Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- Minimum of 8–12 years of construction supervision experience, with a proven track record of acting as a Resident Engineer under an engineering consultancy for large-scale industrial or hyper-scale data center projects.
- Deep technical knowledge of heavy structural steel framing, reinforced concrete structures, dynamic equipment foundations, and high-specification architectural waterproofing systems.
- Thorough understanding of local building codes, and rigorous engineering QA/QC inspection procedures.
- Strong independent judgment and communication skills, with the ability to confidently enforce compliance and manage main contractors firmly.
- Commitment to a 6-day work week on-site in Selangor, if essential to support fast-tracked, 24/7 nature of data center construction timelines.
