Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing, Senai Johor)

• Ensure designs meet applicable standards (UL, FDA) and quality systems (ISO 9001); assist in product compliance, testing, and certification documentation.
• Collaborate with factory teams in setting up and optimizing automation equipment and processes—such as welding, painting, and sheet metal assembly—to enhance consistency, efficiency, and throughput.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, assembly work instructions, and other technical documentation, ensuring proper version control and compliance with change management.
• Provide on-site technical support during production or assembly, troubleshoot issues promptly, and adapt to flexible working hours when required.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams—including electrical, project, QA, and compliance departments—to ensure smooth and timely project delivery.
• Assist with sample preparation, test setup, data collection, and coordination for UL certification or other regulatory testing; follow up on non-conformities and support corrective actions.
• Support startup-related technical tasks such as assisting in technical purchasing, equipment documentation translation, and production readiness activities.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing; experience in modular systems, structural design, or sheet metal products is an advantage.
• Technical Skills:

Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other 3D/2D CAD design software.

• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication in English; working knowledge of Mandarin or Malay is an advantage for cross-functional and supplier collaboration.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and adaptable; capable of multitasking in a fast-paced startup manufacturing environment.
