Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC)
The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) is an independent body established under the Competition Commission Act 2010 to enforce the Competition Act 2010. The Competition Act and the Competition Commission Act were gazetted on 10 June 2010 and enforced beginning 1 January 2012.The acts aimed to encourage national economic development by encouraging and protecting the competition process in the market and consequently protecting consumer interests.
Commission’s Main Functions
The Competition Commission Act 2010 empowers the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) to carry out functions such as implement and enforce the provisions of the Competition Act 2010, issue guidelines in relation to the implementation and enforcement of the competition laws, act as an advocate for competition matters; carry out general studies in relation to issues connected with competition in the Malaysian economy or particular sectors of the Malaysian economy; inform and educate the public regarding the ways in which competition may benefit consumers in, and the economy of, Malaysia.

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA- Must be a Malaysian citizen; and
- Must be at least 18 years of age as of the closing date of the job advertisement.
- Must possess an excellence (at least Grade C) in the Malay Language subject at the level of the Malaysian Certificate of Education / Malaysian Vocational Certificate, or any qualification duly recognized by the Government.

possess a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Economics or Law recognized by the
Government or a qualification recognized as equivalent
Additional Requirements:
a.Candidates must have at least 10 years of
working experience in the field of economics or law. Preference will be
given to candidates with knowledge of competition policies and laws, either in
Malaysia or at the international level;
b.
Possess knowledge of government policies, including experience in dealing with government departments and agencies;
c.
Excellent writing and communication skills in
both Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in a third language is an added
advantage;
d.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and
e.
Demonstrated leadership skills and theability to build good relationships with stakeholders at various levels.
In addition toexperience and knowledge in the field of law, candidates must possess the
following characteristics:

a.Report assignment updates
to the Director of the Investigation and Enforcement Division;
b.
Assist the Director of
the Investigation and Enforcement Division in overseeing and coordinating the
overall functions of the Enforcement Division;
c.
Manage and supervise
Investigation Officers in handling investigations and complaints received by
the Commission regarding potential breaches of the Competition Act 2010;
d.
Supervise Investigation
Officers in assessments initiated by the Commission concerning potential
infringements of the Competition Act 2010;
e.
Manage and oversee
Investigation Officers in gathering information and recording statements from
complainants, enterprises, witnesses, and other relevant parties;
f.
Manage and supervise
Investigation Officers in executing search and seizure operations;
g.
Oversee the collection
and preservation of evidence obtained during investigations;
h.
Supervise
the preparation of Investigation Reports by Investigation Officers throughout
the investigation process;
i.
Oversee
the enforcement of any decisions by the Commission, including interim measures, proposed and final decisions, and undertakings;j.
Manage
and supervise post-investigation proceedings before any final decision is
issued;
k.
Supervise, implement, and enforce any directives, orders, and decisions issued by the
Commission;
l.
Assist
the Appeals and Legal Division in handling cases at the appeal stage;
m.
Support
the Commission in fostering effective collaboration with other enforcement
agencies such as the Royal Malaysia Police, Bank Negara Malaysia, Malaysian
Anti-Corruption Commission, as well as relevant
ministries/agencies/regulators/local authorities;
n.
Supervise
and coordinate the initiation and investigation of criminal cases under the
Competition Act 2010; and
o.
Perform any ad-hoc tasks assigned by Management orthe Chief Executive Officer from time to time.
