What you'll do:
As a DevOps Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play an integral role in maintaining the stability and performance of advanced cloud infrastructure supporting innovative fintech solutions. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new features while proactively monitoring systems for potential issues.Oversee the availability and reliability of cloud-based services by monitoring system performance and implementing improvements for ongoing optimisation.
- Act as a primary responder during cloud infrastructure disruptions, efficiently identifying, mitigating, and resolving issues while conducting thorough post-incident analyses to prevent recurrence.
- Continuously enhance the efficiency of cloud infrastructure by refining code, scaling resources effectively, and ensuring optimal utilisation of all systems.
- Anticipate future system demands by engaging in thoughtful capacity planning and implementing appropriate scaling measures to ensure readiness for growth.
- Establish and enforce best practices for system reliability and maintainability, including robust policies for version control, code reviews, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate closely with software developers to ensure new features are reliable and maintainable by providing input during design phases and assisting with deployment and monitoring of releases.
- Set up and manage comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to promptly detect and address any issues affecting system health or performance.
- Prepare for potential system failures by developing detailed disaster recovery plans that include backup systems and failover procedures to safeguard business continuity.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of system architectures, operational procedures, and incident reports while sharing expertise with colleagues through mentorship initiatives.
What you bring:
To excel as a DevOps Engineer in this forward-thinking fintech environment, you will bring not only deep technical knowledge but also an empathetic approach to teamwork. Your background should demonstrate hands-on experience managing cloud platforms at scale—ideally within fast-evolving industries where reliability is paramount.You will have honed your ability to balance independent problem-solving with active participation in group discussions aimed at improving service delivery.
- At least three years’ proven experience as a Site Reliability / DevOps Engineer or similar role managing complex cloud environments with high availability requirements.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure, including deployment, monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting services.
- Demonstrated ability to work dependably both independently on assigned projects as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams focused on shared goals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to communicate clearly with technical peers while nurturing positive relationships across departments.
- A passion for continuous learning combined with humility when collaborating—openly sharing knowledge while being receptive to feedback from others.
- Strong organisational skills allowing you to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without compromising attention to detail or quality of outcomes.
- Experience setting up automated monitoring tools and alerting systems that support proactive issue detection within distributed infrastructures.
- Proficiency in documenting technical processes thoroughly so that operational procedures are clear for current team members as well as future hires.
