  • Professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or full set of accounts
  • Experience in preparing financial reports and GL reconciliations
  • Familiar with local statutory, tax, and audit requirements
  • Manage day-to-day general ledger operations and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Review and verify journal entries, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation
  • Prepare and maintain full sets of accounts, with an emphasis on general ledger control, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities
  • Oversee the accuracy of financial data input into the accounting system and ensure timely updates
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and management reports, including detailed analysis of GL movements
  • Perform and monitor balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are properly justified and supported
  • Monitor and record petty cash, accruals, prepayments, and depreciation, ensuring proper GL treatment
  • Coordinate and support AP/AR teams to ensure accurate posting and classification of transactions in the GL
  • Review and process payments and banking transactions with proper GL coding and allocation
  • Support audit processes by preparing audit schedules, providing GL-related documentation, and addressing queries from auditors
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, accounting policies, and statutory requirements
  • Provide support in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and automation of GL processes
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning related to general ledger positions
  • Develop and update accounting policies and SOPs related to GL functions in consultation with senior finance management
  • Analyze GL accounts and provide recommendations to improve financial efficiency and internal controls
  • Participate in budgeting processes and ensure budget allocations are properly reflected in the GL
  • Maintain systematic filing of all GL-related documents for audit and internal review purposes
