The Software Engineer (RPG) will contribute to various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, implementation, and maintaining scalable software solutions.
What you will do- Assist in analyzing business application needs and requirements.
- Support the design, development, troubleshooting, debugging, and maintenance of applications and databases.
- Collaborate with IT associates and consultants on project development and maintenance.
- Help write and maintain custom application programs.
- Convert programs from RPG III to RPG IV/Free and RPG ILE as required.
- Provide suggestions for improving applications and optimizing performance.
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Strong interest in software development and RPG programming.
- Willingness to learn online and batch processing requirements.
- Ability to read and understand existing program logic to determine required changes.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.
- Knowledge of source control tools like Aldon or opcode optimization is a bonus.
