We are seeking a Data Backup & Restore Administrator with expertise in backup architecture, archiving, automation, or reporting to join our team. This role involves designing, managing, and optimizing data protection strategies, ensuring business continuity and compliance with industry standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement scalable backup and restore solutions for enterprise environments.
• Manage data archiving strategies, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of historical data.
• Automate backup processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Develop reporting frameworks to monitor backup performance, failures, and compliance metrics.
• Ensure data integrity and security through encryption, access controls, and compliance policies.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate backup solutions with cloud and on-premises environments.
• Troubleshoot backup failures and optimize recovery processes for minimal downtime.
• Work closely with global counterparts in London, New York, and Singapore.
• Maintain documentation for backup configurations, policies, and disaster recovery plans.
• Participate in audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Provide 1st and 2nd level support for backup-related incidents in international data centers.
• Rotational on-call support during Germany’s off-business hours.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.
• Expertise in backup solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, or Rubrik.
• Strong understanding of data protection principles, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with cloud-based backup solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Ansible) for backup process optimization.
• Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, Object Storage).
• Ability to analyze backup reports and optimize performance metrics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a German time zone, ensuring collaboration across global teams.
• Certifications such as Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), Commvault Certified Professional, or equivalent.
• Experience with SIEM tools for monitoring backup security.
• Knowledge of data retention policies and regulatory compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Prior experience in international or distributed IT teams.
