As an Assistant Accounts Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the client's organisation. You will be responsible for preparing forecasts and budgets, managing accounts receivable, payable, and inventory functions, as well as improving accounting systems and procedures.
Your role will also involve establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. You will have the opportunity to increase functional efficiency within your team by providing guidance and coaching to junior staff members.

Additionally, you will undertake any other ad-hoc duties assigned by management.

  • Prepare forecasting and budgeting and manage internal control on SOX compliance.
  • Manage Account receivable, payable and inventory function.
  • Improve accounting systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
  • Increase the functional efficiency and provide guidance and coaching to junior staff.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the management from time-to-time.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the accounting department.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Assistant Accounts Manager position brings a wealth of experience in accountancy along with a professional certificate or bachelor's degree in the field. With at least three years' experience in a similar role, you are a fast learner with a proactive attitude towards your work.
Your excellent communication skills complement your analytical abilities and problem-solving skills. You have proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations. Your ability to work independently under pressure while meeting tight deadlines sets you apart.

Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Office and SAP or similar ERP systems, are essential for this role. While not compulsory, a background in audit would be advantageous.

  • Possess at least Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Certificate in Accountancy or equivalent with a minimum 3 years’ of experience in similar role.
  • Fast learner with proactive working attitude.
  • Good communication skills with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, law and regulation.
  • Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office and SAP knowledge or similar ERP system.
  • Background audit experience (not compulsory).
