About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and commercially savvy Corporate Planning Manager to support the development and execution of long-term business strategies for a leading FMCG company in Malaysia. This role is pivotal in driving strategic alignment across departments, translating data into actionable insights, and supporting key business decisions to fuel sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning & Execution
- Assist in formulating and executing corporate strategies that align with the company’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Track, monitor, and evaluate the implementation of business plans across all departments.
- Partner with senior management to support the development and review of long-term goals and initiatives.
- Data Sourcing and Analysis
- Gather and analyze business, market, and financial data from internal systems and external market sources.
- Translate data into meaningful insights to support strategic decision-making and business expansion.
- Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks for ongoing performance evaluation.
- Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Prepare high-impact, data-driven reports and presentations for the executive team, highlighting performance trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Generate actionable recommendations to optimize business operations, improve profitability, and drive efficiency.
- Commercial Acumen
- Analyze market dynamics, competitor activities, and consumer trends to inform business direction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, finance, supply chain) to shape and refine commercial strategies.
- Ensure corporate plans are market-relevant, commercially viable, and aligned with the company’s financial targets.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with department heads and functional teams to ensure strategic plans are well-integrated and executed effectively.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support strategic initiatives.
- Ad-Hoc Projects
- Lead or support special projects initiated by the CEO or senior leadership, particularly in areas such as growth strategy, operational improvements, and new market entry.
- Conduct market and competitive research to support strategic proposals and business case development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related field; MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in corporate planning, business strategy, or related roles within FMCG or a fast-paced industry.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, business intelligence tools, and strategic modeling.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- High commercial acumen with strong understanding of market dynamics and business performance drivers.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable with strong project management capabilities.
