The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to the Accounting Department and reports directly to the Accounting Executive. Key duties include assisting with bookkeeping and data entry, processing invoices and payments, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting accounts payable and receivable functions, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, and ensuring proper filing of accounting documentation.
The Accounting Assistant shall comply with Company policies and accounting procedures and perform any additional duties reasonably assigned by the Accounting Executive or the Company.
Responsibilities- Assist in performing day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare and process invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other accounting documents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain proper records of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assist in monitoring cash flow, petty cash, and bank transactions.
- Perform data entry of financial transactions into the accounting system and ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, schedules, and supporting documents for internal review.
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding billing, claims, expenses, and payment-related matters.
- Liaise with external parties such as auditors, banks, suppliers, and tax agents when required, under supervision.
- Ensure proper filing, documentation, and confidentiality of accounting and financial records.
- Comply with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control procedures.
- Support audit, compliance, and statutory reporting activities as required.
- Perform other accounting or administrative duties as assigned by the Accounting Executive.
- Fresh graduates may be considered
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with internal and external parties.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to company accounting systems and procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured and systematic manner.
