Northern sales manager (adhesives) - George Town

We are looking for a talented Northern Sales Manager for a established MNC that specializes in adhesives manufacturing services.

Reporting to: Managing Director
Location: Penang

the role
  • Achieve the assigned sales targets by effectively managing both direct customers and distributors.
  • Conduct sales activities in a cost-efficient manner to maximize revenue, while staying within the allocated expense budget.
  • Support regional and global sales initiatives as required.
  • Coordinate transfer projects in line with program guidelines.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans, leveraging global resources to penetrate and grow business with key focus accounts.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with company accounts, expanding networks within these organizations and positioning the company as a preferred solutions provider.
  • Initiate and manage projects that address unique customer needs in collaboration with R&D and Application Engineers.
  • Provide timely updates on market trends and competitive landscape through regular internal communications, including monthly reports.
  • Support the development and implementation of goals and expectations for channel partners in collaboration with Distribution Management. Evaluate partner performance using a “Scorecard” system and recommend improvement actions where necessary.
  • Offer technical support to channel partners, helping to uncover and develop business opportunities aligned with company growth targets.
  • Work closely with channel partners to manage and follow up on sales leads, providing timely reviews and feedback to the internal team.
  • Train and equip channel partners’ sales teams with knowledge of company technologies and products, enabling effective market penetration, customer engagement, and successful deal closures.
the requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electronic, Mechanical) or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales within the manufacturing sector. Experience in the adhesives, electronics, or subcontracting industries is a plus.
  • Proven ability to multitask and stay organized, with strong critical thinking, analytical, and creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Prior experience in managing distributors within the industrial sector is preferred.
